From all of us, thank you.

🪲 Only $2,000 Until the Next Creature Joins the Forest! 🪲

We're less than $2,000 away from unlocking the $155,000 goal, where one lucky creature will earn a permanent place in Mouseborn!

The suggestions have been pouring in, and one of our artists couldn't resist imagining what one contender might look like... Please give a round of applause for the great Hercules Beetle. We think it's safe to say... it's looking pretty formidable. 💪🪲

The final countdown has begun.

With less than 2 days remaining, Mouseborn is racing toward our $155,000 stretch goal. Every share, comment, and new adventurer who joins the campaign brings us one step closer to unlocking even more of the Old Forest.

If you know someone who would love cozy fantasy, tabletop RPGs, or beautifully illustrated worlds, now is the perfect time to invite them on the journey. And don’t forget to keep letting us know which creatures you’d love to see the forest next!

This has been an incredible campaign, and we can’t thank you enough for your support. Let’s finish strong.

🦎 Scenes From the Forest Winner 🦎

Over the past few weeks, creatures from across the Old Forest have cast their votes in our Scenes From the Forest series, choosing how they would respond to mysterious discoveries, unexpected encounters, and adventures beyond the safety of Mossbridge.

Again and again, one group stood out... The ones who chased the unknown instead of running from it.

The Salamanders have emerged victorious.

Let's journey into their world…

🧪 The Seekers of Hidden Truths

While many creatures see only the world before them, salamanders believe there is another layer beneath it. A hidden current of magic, memory, and ancient knowledge flowing quietly through the Old Forest.

To them, everything is connected.

The pattern of raindrops on a pond, the shape of mushroom rings, the movement of insects through the reeds. Even the silence between birdsong can reveal secrets to those patient enough to listen.

This philosophy has made salamanders some of the forest's greatest naturalists, alchemists, herbalists, astrologers, and oracles.

They rarely rush to judgment. Instead, they observe first, searching for the unseen threads that bind every living thing together.

🍄 Magic Woven Through Nature

Some Oracles can read the hidden patterns of nature to glimpse the forest's past, present, and possible futures.

Others communicate through vast underground fungal networks, where thoughts travel like distant echoes beneath the soil.

Some cultivate enchanted spores capable of confusing enemies or creating vivid shared dreams.

And while most inhabitants of the Old Forest fear fire magic, certain salamanders have quietly mastered its delicate art, using tiny controlled flames to illuminate forgotten places, purify corruption, or accelerate natural growth. It is a dangerous practice, and one forbidden throughout much of the kingdom.

🌿 Between Two Worlds

Not all salamanders follow the same path.

Many live alongside mice, frogs, and other peoples of the Old Forest, serving as trusted scholars, healers, druids, and advisers.

Others disappear deep into hidden swamps and towering mushroom groves, where whispers speak of the mysterious Mycelium Cult and ancient secrets long forgotten by the rest of the kingdom.

Whether ally, guide, or keeper of forgotten knowledge, one thing is certain.

The forest still holds many secrets yet to be revealed.

And few are better equipped to uncover them than the salamanders.

🦇 The Bat Takes Flight... But the Forest Isn't Finished! 🌲
21 days ago – Mon, Jun 29, 2026 at 01:44:13 PM

The votes are still being counted, but the 🦇 Bat is well on its way to claiming victory!

Our newest playable creature will soon be soaring through the skies of the Old Forest.

We're so happy to see how excited everyone is about adding a new playable species. Your enthusiasm has been incredible, and we've seen one question come up again and again:

"Why stop at one?"

So...

Let's not.

📜 New Goal: $155,000

We're only a short flight away from $155,000, and if we reach it before the campaign ends, we'll unlock one more playable creature for Mouseborn!

The Hedgehog. The Hercules Beetle. The Flying Squirrel. The Chipmunk. Or perhaps something that never even appeared in the tournament...

This time, we want to hear directly from you.

💬 Who should become Mouseborn's next playable creature?

Leave a comment below and tell us which woodland hero deserves to join the adventure. Whether you're campaigning for a tournament favorite or have an entirely new creature in mind, we want to hear your ideas.

The Old Forest is still growing and it’s up to you to help shape the future.

🐸 A Hop in the Frog Pond 🪷
21 days ago – Mon, Jun 29, 2026 at 10:44:18 AM

Last week, we asked where our journey through the Old Forest should lead next.

The forest answered.

After a spirited battle between the factions, the Frogs leapt ahead with 25% of the vote! So grab your jumping boots, mind the lily pads, and join us for a visit to one of the busiest communities in the Kingdom.

🐸 A Hop in the Frog Pond 🪷

Life in the Frog Pond begins with a splash.

As the morning mist rises from the water and the first insects begin their dance above the reeds, the pond is already alive with activity.

Fishing skiffs glide across the lake. Snail farmers inspect their pens. Traders load barges bound for distant settlements. Along the riverbanks, patrols exchange news while arguing over whose route has the best fishing, although the frogs would tell you this is not arguing.

It is negotiating, and they are very good at negotiating.

Every lily pad, dock, and floating market is hopping with conversation. News travels quickly across the water, and everyone seems to know everyone else's business.

💍 A Pond-Side Celebration

If there's one thing frogs love almost as much as a good trade agreement, it's a good celebration.

Weddings in the Frog Pond are community affairs. Friends, family, merchants, fishers, travelers, and at least one turtle who wasn't technically invited all gather along the water's edge.

There is music and dancing, and there are probably far too many insects being served.

The festivities often continue well after sunset, with stories shared around floating lanterns while the sounds of the pond echo across the water.

For frogs, life on the water has always been about community. Trade routes connect settlements, rivers carry news across the forest, and every gathering becomes an opportunity to strengthen old friendships and make new ones.

Ask any frog and they'll tell you the same thing:

Life is better when it's shared.
